WINTER IS COMING!
It’s the perfect time to start planting your winter crops and vegetables!

Depending on your climate, you need to choose the correct vegetables that will thrive in local conditions during Winter, this includes:

  • Beetroot
  • Broad beans
  • Cabbage
  • Carrots
  • Cauliflower
  • Leeks
  • Potatoes
  • Peas
  • Onion
  • Radishes
  • Shallots
  • Lettuce
  • Spinach
  • Tomatoes
  • Broccoli
  • Brussel Sprouts
  • Turnips
  • Spring Onion
  • Cucumber
  • Parsnip
  • Eggplant
  • Pumpkin
  • Sweet Corn
  • Zucchini
  • Lettuce

Crops are annually sown in Autumn and are harvested during Spring or Summer and include:

  • Cereals such as wheat, barley oats and triticale
  • Oilseeds such as canola, mustard and safflower
  • Pulses such as lupins, chickpeas, fava beans and field peas

However, crops and vegetables are not the only thing that can thrive in winter. Herbs can be perfectly grown for winter staples like soup, stews and casseroles, including:

  • Rosemary
  • Bay
  • Sage
  • Oregano
  • Thyme
  • Coriander
  • Rocket
  • Parsley
  • Mizuna
  • Chervil

Handy Tip: To preserve water you can grow them in containers and use mulch to retain water!

What are you growing this winter?
